The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has expressed optimism that the next president of the Republic of Ghana will be Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He is, thus, appealing to the people of the region to be part of the ensuing victory by voting massively for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 Presidential Candidate.

According to the Minister, the fortunes of Ghana can only get better if the Vice President is elected to succeed President Akufo-Addo. He therefore admonished Ghanaians not to make a mistake by not voting for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in the upcoming general election.

He made these comments at the sidelines of the funeral of the mother of the Upper West regional treasure of the NPP at Tampalipani, a suburb of Wa.

Dr. Bin Salih advised residents of the region to desist from fabricating and propagating untruths against Dr. Bawumia in the name of politics. He expressed worry that such untruths are even told by Muslims against their fellow Muslim brother despite the scriptures preaching against lies.

“The vice president since assuming office has not put to shame, Muslims, if not uplifting the name of the ummah”, he stated. He believes that Dr. Bawumia rather deserves applause and support from the Islamic community instead of the unfounded allegations and vilifications often told against his person and work.

The Minister further sent a general advice to all Muslims, particularly in the Upper West Region, to work towards uplifting one another, and stop acting hypocritically. “The people of Wa are Muslims, but most of us tell lies at the least opportunity. We have to stop lies and grow as Muslims”, he cautioned.

Dr. Bin Salih also used the opportunity to eulogize the Member of Parliament for the Sissala East Constituency, Amidu Chinnia Issakau, and called for prayers for him as he seeks to break the perceived four-year tenure often offered to every MP in the area.

“Amidu Chinnia is my younger brother and his works are very good. Everyone has to support his continuity in parliament so he can continue the already good works he has done for his people”.
