At least 100 small-scale businesses in the Upper West Region are set to enjoy financial and technical support from the Small and Medium Enterprises Growth and Opportunities (SME GO) programme being rolled out by the government. Technical Advisor to the Finance Minister, Dr. Abudu Abdul-Ganiyu, has expressed confidence that the Small and Medium Enterprises Growth and Opportunities (SME GO) programme is bound to succeed. Following the launch of the Self-Employed Enrolment Drive (SEED) last year, the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has seen an increase in the number of informal sector workers enrolled from about 13,000 to over 100,000 enrolments as at August, 2024.
