The Ghana Health Service (GHS) in four regions of the North (Upper West, Upper East, North East and Northern) has been given a boost in the form of state-of-the-art equipment necessary for health service delivery. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) donated various hospital equipment valued at $1 million, which is equivalent to GHC12.6 million. Former president, John Dramani Mahama has suggested that it will be appropriate if the Ghana Armed Forces are excluded from the management of the 2024 general elections. According to Mr. Mahama, managing elections is the core mandate of the police but not the military. Former President and 2024 Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has indicated his intentions to review the names assigned by President Nana Akufo-Addo to certain public universities in the country, should he be elected president again in the 2024 general elections. The Election Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Region, Mr. Dibkuu Ishmael, has delivered on his promise to renovate the Party secretariats in the three constituencies in the region where the NDC has no sitting Member of Parliament (MP). The Apex Court of Ghana has today, 14th February ,2024, dismissed an appeal contesting the judgements of both National and Regional House of Chiefs . In addition, the Supreme Court slapped the appellant with a cost of GHC20,000.00.Mr. Nyasu Amidu, the appellant, after a plea bargain by the appellant’s lawyer to show mercy to his client. The Wa West District Education Directorate has inaugurated its District School Management Committee (D-SMC) as part of measures to improve education standards in the district. The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into the alleged murder of Mr. Eric Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Cosy Hills Hotel and Resort, popularly known as Jirapa Dubai located in Jirapa, Upper West Region. Peter Toobu Lanchene, has provided funding to start the construction of a medical ward to accommodate children on admission at the Dorimon Health Centre.
