Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, the Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency has presented 100 pieces of furniture to the Wa Municipal Education Directorate for distribution to some selected schools.

Dr. Pelpuo at a ceremony to hand over the desks reiterated his commitment to supporting the development of education in the Constituency.

He recounted some of the steps he has taken in the past to better the fortunes of students in the constituency.

According to him, his instrumentality has got many brilliant but needy students awarded scholarships, adding that he has also supported the Directorate with the organization of Mock examination in the constituency and also supported with some motorbikes to aid supervision by circuit supervisors to improve on teaching and learning.

The Honourable MP disclosed that he is currently constructing a 3-unit classroom block at Wa Model School, his alma mater, and further pledged to construct more classroom blocks in other parts of the constituency.

Madam Sophia Dimah Nandzo, the Municipal Director of Education, who received the furniture on behalf of the schools, commended the MP for the gesture, saying his continuous support to schools in the Municipality had contributed greatly to improve the standard of education in the area.

She said the Directorate is hopeful that 2023 BECE will be an improved version of the 2022 results. Madam Sophia pledged that her outfit will give some education to all students and teachers on how to maintain the furniture and infrastructure in the various schools to ensure their continuous contribution to academic activities.
