Issah Issahaku Kantagyeri, the Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has withdrawn his interest to become the chief executive officer of the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) district.
In a letter addressed to the NDC Regional Chairman following the release of the nominees list on January 15, Mr. Kantagyeri said his decision is borne out of personal reasons.
He apologised to the Party for the inconvenience his decision may cause.
In a communique issued on January 15, the Upper West Regional Secretariat revealed a list of 168 persons who successfully filed their names at the close of nominations on January 12 to be considered for the post of MMDCEs in the region.
The list of nominees for the DBI District had 18 names, including that of the RCO.
Issah Kantagyeri was highly tipped to be appointed for the post. His withdrawal will now increase the chances of other persons in the race.
Other notable persons in the race for the DBI DCE are the Constituency Communication Officer, Denis Andaban, and the Constituency Secretary, James Wor.
