Three royal families in the Nandom Traditional Area have called on the Paramount Chief of the Nandom, Naa Professor Edmund N. Delle Chiir VIII, to stop imposing a chief on the people of Kokoligu, a skin under the Nandom Traditional Area. The People’s National Convention (PNC) has distanced itself from a reported declaration of support by its Sissala East Constituency Executives for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, Issahaku Amidu Chinnia. In a press release issued by the party’s General Secretary, Issahaque Awudulai, the PNC described the purported endorsement as “illegal, baseless, null, and void.” According to the statement, the leadership of the PNC had not authorized any decision to back the NPP or its candidate. The Paramount Chief of the Wechiau Traditional Area in the Wa West District, Naa Imoru Nandong Gomah II, has described the Wa West as an “orphan” given the underdevelopment since its creation in 2004. The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has announced that over 150 study studies belonging to the University of Cape Coast (UCC), the University for Development Studies (UDS), and the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have not been accredited for academic work. In a statement issued on Thursday, October 3, the Commission listed 91 centres for UCC, 21 for UDS and 48 for UEW.
