The communications bureaus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the eleven (11) constituencies of the Upper West Region have taken delivery of motorbikes to aid their activities.
The 11 motorbikes were donated by the National Communication Officer of the NDC, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, at the sidelines of a training workshop organized for communicators of the party at the Blue Hills Hotel in Wa on Sunday, 21st April, 2024. He said the donation was from the leader and flagbeqrer of the NDC, former President John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking to the media after the presentation, Sammy Gyamfi said the donation is to enhance the 11 consistencies in the quest to gain power come December 2024. He indicated that the party leadership is very pleased with the Upper West secretariat of the NDC and hope to get more votes from the region.
He said the motorbikes were to serve the party and not for personal work. The motorbike will be taken back from anyone who has possession of the it and decides to leave the party or disassociate him or herself from the party, he warned.
In same vein, Madam Shameema Muslim, wife of NDC financier, Alhaji Alhassan Gbangu, also donated an Apsonic Aloba motorbike to the Upper West Regional Communications Office to support their work to win the polls.
He expressed confidence that John Mahama is on course to bring the NDC back to power, suggesting that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has nothing positive to offer considering “the state of bankruptcy he and President Nana Addo has kept the state of the country into”. He added that “Dr Bawumia and his boss have betrayed the trust Ghanaians reposed in them”, and JM has been tested and delivered hence the need to vote the NDC back into Power.
On his part, former Minority Leader and law maker for Tamale South Constituency, Haruna Iddrisu applauded the communicators in the region and encouraged them to work tirelessly to bring Mr. Mahama back form government, assuring the people of the Region that the return of the NDC to power is a done deal.
He described the Upper West Region as his second home and that nothing will prevent the NDC from sweeping all 11 seats in December 2024.
The vociferous MP said the Lambussie seat currently occupied by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has already been flipped and that measures are being taken to snatch the Nandom and Sisaala East seats.
Other key party personalities in attendance at the sensitizing workshop included Dr. Benjamin Kumbour, former Defence Minister; Dr. Sherif Khalid, member of NDC Finance and Economic Committee; Issahaku Nuhu Putieha, former Wa Municipal Chief Executive; as well as regional and constituency executives.
