The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Wa East Constituency, Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasew has solely funded the construction and rehabilitation of two boreholes for the people of Bulenga and Tafali, both in the Wa East District.
The newly constructed borehole in Bulenga was delivered following a request by the residents three months ago. For the Tafali community, the lawmaker was notified of the community borehole which had been damaged and not used for the past three years. The MP, thus, came to their aid by repairing the broken borehole with an amount of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis.
The commissioning of the two projects was done on behalf of the MP by his wife, Hajia Fatimata Zakaria at an occasion organised in Bulenga.
Speaking during the commissioning, Hajia Fatimata admonished the beneficiary communities to use the boreholes responsibly and maintain them for the good of future generations.
Hajia Fatimata also used the opportunity to thank the people of Bulenga and Tafali for their support to get her husband elected as the MP. She further pleaded with them to keep faith with Dr. Jasaw as he has more plans to develop the area. She underscored the need to retain the MP and vote the NDC’s John Dramani Mahama in the December 2024 election.
Bulenga Naa in an address delivered by Goh-Naa Jebuni Yakubu Kumbarikanga thanked the MP for his selfless leadership. He expressed happiness at the quick nature with which the MP responded to their call. He prayed for the MP and wished him the very best of luck in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Community members at the commissioning also expressed their gratitude to the MP. They urged to continue to remember them with more development projects. The communities indicated they will continue to remember the good done them by the Wa East legislator. Hajia Fatimata was accompanied to the commissioning by some constituency executives and members of the NDC, including the Constituency Chairman, Mr. Abu Balifiama and the Constituency Secretary, Mr. Yakubu Jendaw.
