The Election Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Region, Mr. Dibkuu Ishmael, has delivered on his promise to renovate the Party secretariats in the three constituencies in the region where the NDC has no sitting Member of Parliament (MP).
The constituencies, normally described as “orphaned” are Nandom, Lambusie and Sisala East. Mr. Dibkuu made the promise during the handing-over ceremony of the renovated Regional Secretariat that was done at his expense.
At a ceremony to hand over the renovated Nandom Constituency office, Ishmael stated that since these constituencies were without sitting MPs, there was an expected huge financial burden on the executives and that propelled him to offer this help to ameliorate their plight.
The Regional Elections Officer pledged to continually offer his support till these seats were annexed. As a native and constituent of Nandom, Mr. Dibkuu said the NDC cannot afford to leave the New Patriotic Party stay in office beyond 2024. He thus, charged party members to do all they can to win all the seats in the Upper West Region and also increase the votes of the presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
The Nandom constituency chairman, Mr. Philemon, who received the renovated office on behalf of the executive committee, could not hide his delight for the kind gesture from Mr. Dibkuu vis-à-vis his continuous support for the party in the Constituency. He thanked the benevolent Ishmael and pledged to ensure the office is maintained to serve the needs of the NDC. He posited that the Constituency would see more development if all constituents were like Dibkuu Ishmael.
On his part, the Lambusie Constituency Organizer, who received the renovated office on behalf of the executive committee and party members, expressed gratitude to Mr. Dibkuu. He stated that the beauty of the office was indicative of the good work that had been done on it. He thanked the Election Director for the good work, and promised that they will do all they can to ensure the Lambussie seat is recaptured for the NDC.
