MP For Wa East In Collaboration With CODSAG of UBIDS Donates Educational Materials To Bulenga D/A Primary A& B
Dr Godfred Seidu Jasaw, a senior lecturer turned legislator for Wa East, one time head of department (HOD) for Integrated Community Development (ICD) of the University for Development Studies now SDD-UBIDS in collaboration with the Community Development Students Association of Ghana (CODSAG) has donated some educational materials to Bulenga D/A JHS A & B respectively.
The MP, who, the CODSAG members described as their role model provided resources and assisted the students with proposals to secure these materials. The materials donated included textbooks, pamphlets and BECE past questions for the various subjects areas. Others included dictionaries, pens and over 600 exercise books which were distributed to the students.
The president of CODSAG, Suleman Watara and the women commissioner Francisca Yaboah took terms to address the students. They urged them to study hard so that the toils of their parents will not be in vein. The girls were specifically admonished to concentrate on their studies so that they can occupy their rightful positions in future. They asked the students to take inspiration from their MP, Dr Godfred Seidu Jasaw who, has impacted a lot of lives on the University campus before leaving for parliament, the more reason they deemed it fit to still collaborate with him to impact many lives in his constituency. With the support of the MP, they hinted, the gesture will be an annual event but will rotate to other basic schools in the constituency.
The assembly member for Bulenga electoral area, Hon Suglo Nurideen who doubles as the headteacher for Bulenga D/A Primary School A, on behalf of the community members thanked CODSAG of UDS and the MP for Wa East, Dr Godfred Seidu Jasaw for choosing Bulenga schools as the first beneficiaries of these donations and pledged to make good use of them. He urged CODSAG and the MP not to forget of Bulenga in their quest to bring development to the Wa East constituency.
