UWR:MP Supports Completion Of Steel Foot Bridge At Kumbiehi Bakpong
The Hon. Member of parliament for Wa Central Constituency and the Caucus leader for the Upper West Region has supported the people of kumbiehi Bakpong with Gh5000 to enable them complete a steel foot bridge to ease their movement during the raining season.
He made the donation on a working visit to the site to ascertain the progress of work and its impact on the lives of the residence. He commended the people for the initiative and encouraged them to keep it up since that is what is required to push our development efforts forward. He said Ghana is in a critical moment of our democratic experiment where it’s imperatively impossible for government alone to timeously provide public goods and services for the benefit of the citizenry. He was passionate about the project and recounted how they started similar projects all by themselves during the PNDC era. He was emphatic about the need for such efforts to always be supported by duty bearers to motivate others to take up similar community initiatives for the good of the society. He encouraged community members everywhere to develop the spirit of self-help, cooperation, diligence and sharing in their quest to transforming their communities from their current status to better ones.
Hence, he supported the project with Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc5000) to facilitate its completion. He also promised to provide the community with a mechanized borehole to ease their water problems.
The community members were excited and thanked him for his swift intervention. They recounted how he has been supportive to their course in times of need including; providing them with a clinic, renovating and converting their dilapidated CHPS compound into a Maternity facility for their pregnant women, helping them with electricity poles amongst others.
